Clown Mask
This is a Mask I made for a friend of mine; she’s doing a dance performance based on fear.
She gave me a £1 mask and told me to make a scary clown.
The Make
So I started with the basic mask. First I cut slits above and below the eyes to mimic some clown male-ups I had seen. The mask was made from compacted recycled paper so I wet different areas repeatedly and picked at the wet paper to scuff and lump the face. After that had dried I glued a polystyrene egg (as its Easter) to it for the nose. Then I used my old friend Polyfilla insulating foam and dabbed it around the face and inner eye sockets to make the burn boil look. Finally I painted it and stuck a bit of green hair in the crevasses.
